FLOCK Cameras

Montgomery County, your trust and privacy comes first.
I’ve been traveling across our county and listening to your thoughts about Flock cameras.

Initially, I believed we could protect your privacy through strict internal policies and strong supervision. But after listening to your concerns, I realize the issue runs deeper.

The worries you shared with me aren't just about our local deputies' use of this technology. They are about the trustworthiness of the company itself, and the risk of our citizens' data being misused by outside groups.

I am running for Sheriff to build real, lasting relationships with our community. I want everyone to feel comfortable, secure, and welcome living here. Your trust in the Sheriff’s Office is worth more than any single piece of technology.

That is why, after serious consideration, I have decided that if elected Sheriff, I will discontinue the use of Flock cameras by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. This means physically removing the hardware, discontinuing the contract, and closing out our user accounts.

True leadership means listening to the people you serve—and acting on what you hear.
